F Ball Styccobond F46 - 15L

F Ball Styccobond F46 is a premium pressure sensitive adhesive that has become the adhesive of choice for The London Cork Flooring Company across a wide range of cork floor installations, especially large-format projects and rooms with underfloor heating systems.

Unlike traditional contact adhesives such as Wakol D, F46 offers an extended open time that is particularly well suited to the installation of cork tiles. Cork is a naturally brittle material that requires careful handling and precise positioning during laying. The extended working time afforded by F46 allows installers to adjust tiles with confidence before the bond sets, reducing the risk of cracking, chipping, or misalignment — a significant practical advantage on complex or large-area projects.

F46 also delivers a superior aesthetic result. As the adhesive cures, the moisture within it is progressively absorbed into the cork substrate, causing the tile boundaries to become virtually imperceptible. The result is a more uniform, homogenous finished surface in which the joints recede rather than define the floor. This quality of finish is difficult to replicate with contact adhesive methods.

Once the installation has been allowed to cure for the recommended minimum period of 72 hours — a critical requirement that must be observed before the application of any heat, including underfloor heating systems — the bond achieved with F46 has proven consistently durable and long-lasting in The London Cork Flooring Company's experience.

F46 is recommended for use on cork floor tiles in flat, horizontal applications. It is not suitable for vertical or stepped surfaces such as stair cladding, where a traditional contact adhesive remains the appropriate specification.

Available in 15-litre containers, Styccobond F46 is easy to apply and well-suited to both residential and commercial cork flooring projects.
